This article in The Lancet (Dec 21-28 2019) deals with more than a memorable patient – it is the patient’s mother who makes such an impact on the doctor- a practising neurologist in the US. The accompanying editorial reminds us of how interconnected we all are- someone dies and allows (through the organs they donate) some other loved one to live. It is beautifully written and worth mulling over.
