E-Journals

What e-journals are available to NHS staff and students?

Journals A-Z gives you access to full text e-journals and e-books available to NHS staff and students with an OpenAthens account.

Details of print journals available in your local health library can be found by searching the library catalogue using an advanced search with the Journal checkbox ticked under “Restrict by material type.”

Select Bodmin St Lawrence’s Hospital or Truro Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) under the “restrict by location” dropdown menu to limit your search to titles held at a specific location.

To request an article that you may be unable to access online complete the Request a journal article form.

To request a subject search of the peer reviewed journals complete the Request a literature search form.

Plymouth University Students

Log into the Plymouth University website and go to the (Electronic Library) Primo.

You can search for journal titles via the e-journals A-Z.

Or search Primo for a specific article using title words and/or authors last names. Remember to change the drop-down menu from Quick Search to Articles.

If the article is available electronically then click on ‘View it’ to access it.

If the article is not available then you will need to apply for an interlibrary loan.

University of Exeter Students

Search the journal title on the Exeter library catalogue.

If the University subscribes, you’ll see whether there is online access and what dates are available. Click on the links to access. You will be prompted to enter your university username and password.

You will then need to locate your article using the date, volume, and issue numbers that are part of the article reference (for example, Dec 2014, Vol. 63, Issue 12) – you might need to look for a link to the journal archive.

Further assistance
